Preliminary Engineering Report and Environment ReportThe Town of Denton is looking to complete a Preliminary Engineering Report and Environmental Report to study alternatives to the current sludge management system. Alternatives such as installing a mechanical dewatering device, constructing additional reed drying beds, converting the existing sludge holding tank to an MBR digester and land application will be considered.DEADLINESDeadline for questions and clarifications:All questions regarding the proposal and project must be received at the Public Works Department by close of business, 4pm, Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 one week prior to the proposal submission deadline. Questions must be submitted in writing via regular mail, email, fax or hand delivery to the address and phone number shown above, or via e-mail at mchandler@dentonmaryland.com.Submissions shall be due on Wednesday, March 23d, 2PM local time, to the Town of Denton Public Works, Attn: Mark Chandler, 650 Legion Road, Denton, Maryland 21629. Late proposals shall not be accepted. The town will not be responsible for delay caused by mail service or for lack of verification when a return receipt is not requested by the firm. One (1) original and one (1) copy shall be provided in sealed envelopes. A pdf should also be provided on a CD.

INVITATION TO BIDDERS
PURCHASE OF A SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN DENTON
Under the authority of Chapter 23, Purchasing Manual, Salvage & Surplus Material Policy, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Denton, Maryland, the Town issues an invitation to bid on the following Town owned property and all improvements, buildings, thereon:

The Property is sold as is, with the requirement that a demolition permit is obtained prior to closing and the existing building is demolished within (6) months of purchase. The minimum bid for the property is $20,000. The sealed bid is to be submitted to the Town of Denton. Bidders must submit satisfactory evidence of financing or availability of funds in the case of cash purchase, a $2500 earnest money deposit in the form of a certified or cashier’s check, and a signed copy of the contract of sale with their bid. Closing shall be on or before December 30, 2020. If closing does not occur on or before December 30, 2020 through no fault of the Town, the deposit shall be forfeited to the Town and the property shall be rebid at the sole cost, expense, and risk of the successful bidder.

Denton Water Main Project – Seeking Bids – (posted 9/9/2020).(bidding closed)
The Town of Denton is accepting sealed bids for a Denton Water Main Replacement Project. The work includes, but is not limited to maintenance and protection of traffic, saw cutting, excavation, water main construction, fire hydrants, water services, valves and appurtenances, all required post-construction testing, trench restoration, temporary pavement restorations, concrete curbing, concrete sidewalk, concrete driveway aprons, concrete curb ramp, landscaping and permanent pavement restorations.

Sharp Road Park – Phase II
November 29, 2019.
Sharp Road Park is currently in phase 2 of construction. A walking path is under construction along with leveling the fields for play. The field will be seeded in the spring of 2020 for fall use.
The Denton Police Department recently received a grant for soccer and lacrosse goals which will be positioned on the fields in the near future.
The Mayor and Denton Town Council will be scheduling a working session pertaining to Sharp Road Park in January 2020. Input from the community on the next steps for the park is being sought. We encourage all sports clubs to review the drawing and make comments and suggestion on the current plans. Suggestions for future projects at Sharp Road Park are welcome as well.
We would also like to know sports club schedules of availability to attend a meeting in January of 2020. The meeting will be held at the Wharves of Choptank Visitor and Heritage Center at 3 Crouse Park Lane in Denton at a future date.
