P/T Code Enforcement Officer or P/T Property Maintenance Inspector

The Town of Denton is accepting applications for a Part-Time Codes Enforcement Officer or a Part-Time Property Maintenance Inspector.

Codes Enforcement Officer

Min. starting salary - $28.20 per hr.

Min. qualifications – HS Grad. or GED, to include a course in computer operations and completion of an apprenticeship (3 years) in one of the building trades or suitable thereof; one year at journeyman level & one year administrative.

Requirements – Must have a valid MD Class C Driver’s License or equivalent. ICC Certifications to perform inspections are required or must be obtained as such - IPMC w/in 6 months of hire date.  IRC w\in 12 months, ICC w/in 18 months, IBC w\in 30 months.

Property Maintenance Inspector

Min. starting salary - $25.64 per hr.

Min. qualification - HS Grad. or GED, with 1 yr. experience at a journeyman level in the construction industry; along with computer skills.

Requirements – Must have a valid MD Class C Driver’s License or equivalent. Within 6 months of employment applicant must be able to obtain IPMC Certification and CPSI Certification, and Stormwater Management Certification. Required to obtain the IRBC Certification within one year of employment.

Applicants must be able to pass pre-hire drug/alcohol tests and preliminary background check. Position is subject to random testing.
