Assistant Tourism Coordinator - The Town of Denton is accepting applications for a part-time Assistant Tourism Coordinator position for the Wharves of Choptank Visitor and Heritage Center. The Assistant Tourism Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day Visitor Center operations which includes, but not limited to scheduling events, greeting visitors and courteously providing basic information and/or materials to visitors about the Visitor Center, Town of Denton, and Caroline County specifically on news, events and activities, and local and other Maryland attractions, accommodations, recreational facilities, services and destinations.  The Assistant Tourism Coordinator must be energetic, goal-oriented, and focused on customer service.  Performance is evaluated periodically based on previously, mutually agreed to goals and objectives.

Min. starting salary: $18.15 per hour.  Applicant is required to possess a HS diploma or GED, to include, or be supplemented by courses in business English, typing, and office practices and procedures; and six months experience in an office requiring typing, filing, and operating a computer.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATES:  Graduation from a recognized high school – or GED, AND six months of experience in clerical work with public contact. Strong oral and written communication skills.

Public Works Department

Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I              (Re-posted 9/13/24)

This is technical work at the full performance level. An employee in this class with
general supervision from the Superintendent, operates water and wastewater treatment
plants, and pumping stations in accordance with pertinent regulations.

Progress will be evaluated periodically in conference with the Superintendent to
determine what mutually agreed upon goals and objectives have been met and to set goals
for the forthcoming evaluation period.

Employees in this class are essential, thus subject to call backs as well as extended shifts
under emergency conditions.

The Town of Denton is accepting resumes for a F/T Acct Clerk I to handle AP, Cash Collections, answer phones, process mail, and assist with Utility Billing, etc... HS Diploma or GED required with 6 months experience in clerical accounting with public contact and the ability to assist the public patiently and politely. Supplemented with courses in bookkeeping, accounting, computer operations, typing and office practices preferred. This is a bondable position and is subject to a background investigation. Min. starting salary of $18.15 per hour, with an excellent benefit pkg.
