At the January 2, 2025 Denton Town Council Meeting, Chief George Bacorn received a proclamation on behalf of the Denton Police Officers for National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9th. He was presented the proclamation by Councilman Keith Johnson.

Mayor McNinch led the Pledge of Allegiance and spoke December 14th at the Wreaths Across America event held at the Denton Cemetery. The event was organized by Eagle Scout candidate Billy Quick. Serval people turned out to be a part of the ceremony and placed wreaths on the graves of veterans.
