On or around August 1, 2017 Public Works staff will be conducting water main flushing and fire hydrant inspections. This means all fire hydrants in town will be operated and inspected for proper operation. In addition, water mains will be flushed out as part of an ongoing effort to maintain high quality drinking water. During these times, customers may notice a temporary drop in water pressure. There is no need to be alarmed, as pressure will restore itself once the hydrant is closed. It is important to make sure all of our hydrants are functional, and testing and inspecting them in non emergency conditions will ensure that during an emergency, all fire hydrants will be reliable.
